Bergen became the meeting point for veteran handball last October with the celebration of the Veterans-NM, an event that brought the handball community together around sport, togetherness, and a shared passion for the game.
Organized by the Norwegian Handball Federation (NHF) – Western Region, the event gathered 113 teams and more than 1,200 veteran players from across the country, confirming the excellent health of masters handball in Norway and the strong sense of belonging that unites this community.
Throughout the weekend, courts across Bergen hosted intense and exciting matches, as well as many reunions between teammates and rivals from different generations. Once again, the Veterans-NM proved that this tournament is about much more than competition: it is a true celebration of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and love for handball.
The organization highlighted the commitment and dedication of all those who made the event possible. Partners, the organizing committee, volunteers, and referees played a key role both on and off the court, ensuring the smooth running of the championship and a positive experience for all participants.

According to Frank H. Bjørndal, President of the NHF Western Region, the tournament is also an opportunity to recognize those who, over the years, have contributed to building and strengthening Norwegian handball, keeping the spirit of the sport alive beyond professional competition.
The Veterans-NM in Bergen comes to a close leaving behind great sporting moments, unforgettable memories, and the certainty that veteran handball remains a fundamental pillar of the handball community. Once again, handball proved to be a unifying force that transcends age and results.
