A new milestone for Masters handball in Europe
The European Handball Federation has officially confirmed that the 2027 European Masters Handball Championships for men and women will be held in Malaga, Spain, from 17 to 20 June 2027.
This announcement represents an important new step for the Masters handball community and reinforces the growing role of this movement within the European handball landscape.
For European Handball Masters —EHM—, the decision confirms something we deeply believe: handball does not end when a player retires; it simply transforms. Masters handball is not only about competition. It is about experience, friendship, health, passion, and the lifelong connection that thousands of players across Europe continue to have with the 40×20 court.
After Setúbal 2026, Malaga 2027 will become the next major meeting point for veteran players, clubs, referees, coaches, and handball lovers from across Europe. A new opportunity to keep building a stronger, more visible and better-connected Masters handball community.
At EHM, our mission is to promote Masters handball throughout Europe, encourage the creation of new teams and events, connect clubs from different countries, and give greater visibility to players aged 35+ who continue to keep the spirit of the game alive.
The confirmation of Malaga as host city also aligns with one of EHM’s main goals: to help spread the European Masters Handball Championship experience year after year, opening new cities, new teams and new challenges for the Masters movement.
For the Masters community, the message is clear:
Masters handball continues to grow.
Masters handball deserves visibility.
Masters handball has a future.
